I, Myself, Became Vintage
Embarking on a Journey as a New Online Seller and a Social Media Dinosaur - Is it Worth the Effort?
I've always been fascinated by the charm of the past and consider myself a bit of an artist. In this age of online platforms, I decided to take a leap and venture into this new territory.
At this point, I find myself somewhere in the middle of my journey, continuously striving to streamline my processes. I encounter a mix of "you know what?" moments and surprises like "I didn't know that!" In the process, I often find myself exclaiming, "Oh my god, does it really do that? Wait, which button was it again?" There's a lot of repeating, pausing, and watching YouTube tutorials repeatedly until it sinks in.
My photos have come a long way from being complete eye sores to being acceptable, though there's still work to do in updating them. I started with a humble iPhone, but after upgrading to a better iPhone, the difference in photo quality is evident. So, I highly recommend investing in good camera gear; first impressions matter, after all.
Sometimes, I experience moments of quick inspiration where I end up taking numerous shots within milliseconds. The downside is that my storage fills up quickly, leaving me with the dilemma of deciding what to keep and what to let go of. It can be a bit maddening.
I've also learned the importance of being polite to more tech-savvy family members around the house. There are moments when I can't find a particular button or figure something out, and I end up calling for their help repeatedly. It's essential to be courteous and grateful for their assistance.
Here's a useful tip for those seeking help from their tech-savvy family members: try a more amiable approach. For instance, you could say, "Darling, I bought this thing from the shops earlier. Could you possibly help me redo my inventory and add a '1' to every listing? Thanks, I really appreciate it!" This way, you might score some help without boring them, (Over a Thousand and 1 to go).
As I continue on this journey, I remind myself that Rome was not built in a day. Progress takes time, and with determination, I believe I can make this venture a success. So, is it worth the effort? I'll find out along the way!
